Still Against the Wind: My First Plein Air Adventure
Still Against the Wind, oil on canvas panel, 11 Γ 14 inches, 2026
So thrilled to share that my painting, Still Against the Wind, sold at a bidding during the Plein Air event at Borden Estate! π It was my first time taking part in this plein-air event, and it is one of the most exciting memories of my journey so far.
It wasn't an easy day, though. The wind kept blowing away the little scraps of paper I used to clean my brushes, and I found myself chasing them across the field. Then my coat blew right across my palette, smearing it with every color I'd mixed. I was so shocked, I almost wanted to give up.
But I kept going anyway, and that persistence is exactly where the title came from. No matter how windy it got, I stayed at the painting until it was done.
As an emerging artist here, seeing this piece find a new home means the world to me. Thank you to Roost Arts and The School of Practical Philosophy for supporting me along the way. Here's to more painting, more growth, and more good stories. πΏ
