Two pieces of Good News I’ve Been Sitting On

This morning I learned that I was selected as an Elected Artist Member of the American Artists Professional League (AAPL) on July 27. AAPL is one of the oldest and most respected organizations in the United States dedicated to traditional and contemporary realism. This membership level means my work was reviewed and judged to meet the League’s standard for professional realist art — a meaningful milestone in my art journey during these first three months of formally emerging to the world.

I am genuinely honored to join a community of artists who share a deep dedication to craftsmanship and realism. I’m also pleased to share that my painting Mercy was selected for AAPL’s First Annual Juried Open Online Exhibition. Being chosen for a juried show is always special, and being part of the inaugural one feels particularly meaningful.

A small, funny aside: an ad I ran for this painting was rejected by Meta — but the painting still found its way into the exhibition. I’m thrilled about that.

What’s next? I’ll continue creating and sharing new work, and I’m considering a few next steps in my practice and presentation. Stay tuned.

Thank you all for following and supporting me on this journey. More to come soon!
